Over the 90s, influenced by all kind of music, Hugo a.k.a CheekyRobot faced rap and the mix between words and jazz/funk loops were the first step to his research at the breakbeat/ samples world. With 12 years old and 2 decks of an old cheap hi-fi k7 system, he made his first beat by sampling breaks from a British radio station program ...well the rest is history. At the age of 18, just for fun he came up as a rapper at the HardClub open mic sessions.

In june of 2007 produced out an Hardcore Rap ep called Propaganda that was beat featured by Macaco Simão (Dama Bete’s producer).

In May of 2009 thanks to the same ideas, philosophy's and music love, CheekyRobot and Geny brought out together the No Pity project (jazz, blues, funk, soul).

At the year of 2013 graduated with honours from Anglia Ruskin Cambridge University and gained an upper second class degree in Sound Engineering and Physics Acoustics.

2014 its the release year of the Keep Dreaming Album, produced, composed, recorded, mixed and mastered during the Cambridge academics final year. Also still in 20014 CheekyRobot enters to the PhD programe in Digital Medias and Signal Processing at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto.
